The Intent

Thought-provoking design, meant to stir up the heart and mind.

The goal of my artistic pursuit is to inspire those around me; whether it be to take care of this tremendous, beautiful space rock that we live on, to open one’s mind to new and unorthodox ways of thinking, or to merely inspire others to create more art themselves, within their daily lives. I simply strive to ignite that spark.

In many of my personal paintings, you may see reoccurring themes; usually post-apocalyptic, dystopian, or eco-centered surrealism. These have been my main fantastical muses the past few years, and now seem especially fitting, in our current worldly situation... I often paint surrealism because I adore how it can bend and twist your mind; one painting can have so many meanings, and it’s all up to the interpreter’s eyes. Not to mention, how much emotion and unspoken thought can be hidden underneath the lines, often suggested by the multiple subjects fluidly morphing into one ultimate piece… I love how many different messages that can communicate to different viewers.

As you many have noticed from my portfolio, I have a soft spot for fantasy worlds, as well. Whether the escape to an other-worldly realm be through the means of traditional art, fictional literature, dressing up in costume, or simply daydreaming in a cozy park, it’s all beautiful to me… Yet, I also see the vital need to be present in reality, especially in the current age, when we have so much information, and so much potential for change, right at our fingertips.

I know not everyone may think as vividly or as consciously as I do about the state of our earth, our societal structures, and even our personal states of mind… but I also know that art can show others how I feel. I can repaint the information laid before us in a format more appeasing to the eye; easier to process, for some… and, in my hopes, more inspirational, to all.♡
